FEATHER AND STONE, CHAPTER 1: "STUDENTS"

SHE'S A WITCH!!!

Years have passed since the suicidal exile of the highland quarriers left her family and traditions behind to beg Sularuh the Wise to transform her into a woman.  But the dread sorceress offered her far more than a sex-change spell- she offered to be her teacher!

Now Feather Broken-Stone is a powerful witch in her own right, with a mind expanded by drugs and deep lore, a heart tempered like a Witch-Bronze blade, and names of power that roll like thunder.  And even a social life!  (if the goats count)

But something is damaged deep inside her, and the brighter her arcane light burns, the deeper her shadow grows.  If new names can come to life... then old names can die and fester.  

Our young witch knows little beyond the backwaters of her punishing country, but to heal she will need to fly out upon a pilgrimage through Aporea like a feather on the wind.

Meanwhile, in the dawning imperial capital of Panoply, immortal grudges pull apart like tender scars...

Feather and Stone is saga five years in the making, and the entire storyboard is finally complete.  We began producing finished chapters late last year, and this is the first in an epic that we'll release chapter by chapter.  We are close to finishing the next volume of chapters, and will be updating our progress on FablesArtParade@gmail.com, and at https://www.patreon.com/FableComics.

Our name is Fable.
We use the royal "we" because we are a plural system, but this is a one-woman production from start to finish.  This story is an inseparable fusion of trans survival, anarchist theory, neurodivergnce, psychotic spiritual hallucination, and a lifelong belief in the transformative praxis of fantasy.  We have always experienced life with one foot in a lucid-dream world of metaphors, and this story is our one way of speaking that language to all of you on this side.  I hope you bring something with you into the world of Myriad, and also take something back.
